When you first press down on the accelerator, there is a delay before anything actually happens. Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) systems cause this as they take the signal from the accelerator pedal when you press it and send it to the vehicle’s ECU. All of this process causes a delay called throttle lag. Besides, manufacturers deliberately leave the delay there because it makes the vehicle suitable for various types of drivers.

The basic steps of the Pedal Commander® installation are always the same regardless of the vehicle's make and model:

Turn off the ignition and wait 10-15 minutes with your driver's door open to allow your ECU to shut down.

Disconnect your accelerator pedal assembly plug, then plug in the heads to connectors on the Pedal Commander® harness.

Clean up the area where you want to mount the control unit with the alcohol wipe. Stick the bracket with the supplied velcro.

After you make sure the cables are secure and won't be tangled, you are ready to enjoy Pedal Commander®.

Step 1 was the most difficult part, getting my pedal connector disconnected not sure if it was swelled from the heat or what. Couldn’t tape it to anything as it wouldn’t stick to my car plastic anywhere so got it shoved somewhere and haven’t had an issue. My turbo delay is still apparent but not near as bad. Definitely have to get used to easing on the throttle to not over rev but once you’ve got it figured out it drives nice! I love how you can easily change the settings on your phone as you’re driving. Definitely recommend this product. Went from having a good 3 second throttle delay to maybe 1 second.

This is a MUST have for you Chevy Trax owners who are looking to get rid of that awful acceleration lag we suffer from with our cars. Each person is different, but I keep mine on City 0 mode, that’s what works best for me. The higher you go up, the more sensitive the pedal is. Acceleration is much smoother now and it’s also instant. Once you hit the pedal you’re off, no more waiting for the car to get going. $300 is definitely expensive but it’s worth every penny if you’re looking to give your Trax a little extra boost. It’s not going to make the car faster or give you any extra HP but you will definitely feel a difference when using the pedal commander.
